ABOUT US

ABOUT US

CFC South expresses the heart of CFC in the heart of South Belfast. Over 30 years ago God gave us a vision to be ‘A Christ-centred church dedicated to impacting Belfast, Ireland and the nations with the love of God, in the power of the Holy Spirit.’ In 2015 we sent a team of 38 people to plant CFC South with the vision of impacting our city by helping people find and follow Jesus and bring His Kingdom to Earth. This is the foundation of all that we do. We would love you to join us as we follow Jesus in serving our city.

New here?
We understand that coming along to a new place for the first time can be a daunting prospect. If you are new to church or thinking about joining us on a Sunday you would be most welcome. We hope that the following information will help to answer your questions and provide you with the information you need to help you as you begin your journey with us.

Where is the church?
We meet at Belfast YMCA, 56-58 Knightsbridge Park, Belfast BT9 5EH

What time does it start?
You are so welcome to join us at 11am at our church venue or you can connect with our CFC East site online at 10am on Youtube or Facebook.

What should I wear?
Come as you are! Most people come along in casual dress, for example jeans and t-shirt. However, if you would like to dress more formally, please feel free.

Where can I park?
There is free parking on-site. There is parking available inside the front entrance with a further carpark closer to our church doors for disabled or family parking.

Can I get the bus?
The 8D bus from the City Centre brings you to Stranmillis. Our nearest bus stop is at Sharman Road. If you jump off at this stop, walk onto Richmond Park and go past Stranmillis Primary School on the left you will see our entrance after about a 5 minute walk.

Meet and greet?
You may find it useful to be specifically greeted by one of our Welcome Team when you arrive who will greet you at the front door and show you to a seat. Send us an email (south@thisiscfc.com) and let us know what date and time you are joining us and we will be sure to have members of our welcome team ready to greet you.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A SUNDAY SERVICE

Welcome & Worship

Our morning services begin with a short welcome and a time of celebration and sung worship. This normally lasts 15 minutes and will be directed from the front by our service leader and worship team. All the words are on the screens so if you want to, you can sing along. We encourage you to relax and engage at your own pace, even if that means not singing at all. During this time our kids will go to kids church, our team should have already greeted you when you arrived and registered your child.

Kids & Youth Church

Children aged 3-10 go to kids church during our time of worship, so this will give you plenty of time to register your kids and get them settled with our trained and awesome volunteers. They will play, do arts and craft, sing songs, learn bible stories and be cared for by our wonderful team and you can collect them after the service ends. The kids team will move towards the double doors on the left when it is time to take the children out to kids church, this is usually after the second worship song.

We also have a creche space for babies and toddlers aged 0-3 with a video link into the service to allow you to care for your little now while still connect in with the service. Here you will find a range of toys suitable for your little one, a high chair and a changing mat and a comfortable space for you to use.

Three times a month our Youth aged 10-14 (P6-Yr10s) gather for youth church. They leave at the same time as the children and will play games, eat snacks, worship God, explore Bible teaching and chat together. It's purpose is to help each young person thrive in their discipleship journey and know God more.

Teaching

Normally after our time of worship we have some brief church news, which may include stories, information, interviews or upcoming events and then a relevant and meaningful talk that is designed to last around 30 minutes. Our talks are biblical, challenging and applicable to all of our lives. At the end of the talk we often provide an opportunity to make a decision to begin a journey with Jesus; there is no pressure in this moment and if at any point you want to find out more about what that means, our team at the connection point or prayer area would love to chat to you after the service and will provide you with an exploring faith pack.

Prayer Space

Our trained prayer team are available after the teaching and at the end of the service to pray with you for any reason. After the service, you can chat a member of our team to say hello or find out more about the life of CFC. Our hosting team are always happy to help or direct you at any time throughout the morning.
